They consist, basically, of a trough-shaped shell (usually 2 to 3 times longer than it is wide) with a semicircular bottom, fitted with a horizontal longitudinal shaft on which are mounted arms supporting a combination of ribbon blades, paddles or helical screws set at a fairly close clearance to the semicircular mixer body so that no layer of material remains on the bottom of the ribbon mixer.\n\nThe most effective design of Masterly® Ribbon layout is the double spiral in which the outer ribbon moves the product in one direction and the inner ribbon moves it in the opposite direction. The ribbons rotate and move materials both radially and laterally to insure thorough blends in short cycle times. \n\nRange of design solutions\nAll model pic\n\nConstruction Material:\nAll of our standard series ribbon blenders are manufactured in 304 Stainless Steel. SS304 meets food grade requirements; and offers exceptional resistance to corrosion, wear and tear, and ensures a long life and the value of your equipment. For certain applications where high levels of corrosive agents are present, we manufacture in 316 Stainless Steel.\n\n\nAgitators:\nMasterly ribbon blenders feature double Ribbon fit to a solid stainless-steel shaft. We also offer paddle style agitators, as well as ribbon mixers with scraper blades.\n\n\nShaft Seals\nOur ribbon blenders come standard with our Masterly packing glands. Packing glands feature a Teflon style rope which is compressed against the end plate, creating a barrier to keep the mixing product in the trough. These work very well for both dry and wet mixing applications.\nAs an upgrade for your blender, we also offer air purged seals for powders or slurry mixes. These air seals are ideal for scenarios requiring caustic wash downs and sanitary requirements. These seals are easy to disassemble for regular cleaning and offer years of service.\nOptional: Mechanical Seal\n\nDrives Motor\nMasterly Blenders utilize Direct drive style gear motors, Chain Drive, or Belt Drive to power our equipment. These drive systems have proven highly reliable and require less maintenance. \nOur standard drive motors offer a service factor for continual mixing throughout the day. Based on the capacity of your equipment we offer a drive motor consistent for normal mixing conditions; although we can modify this to higher powered equipment, different RPM and variable speed drive systems if requested.\n\nDischarge system\nBased on your mixing requirements your blender can be fitted with different styles of discharge systems. Our most common style discharge is a butterfly valve, which works well in wet mixing solutions as well as dry. For dry mixing we offer the Masterly slide gate in manually operated or pneumatically actuated. The benefit of our slide gate system is zero ‘dead spot’ in the mixer.\nOur blender’s standard height is to set the discharge 24” from the ground, allowing for a pallet and barrel below the equipment. This height can be increased or decreased based on your needs.\n\nCovers\nOur blenders come standard with hand open lids. As an optional feature, we can add a Hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder for lifting.\nMasterly Company can also build a Masterly vent-a-hood system or a custom model to your designs.\n\nSafety Systems-\nMasterly ribbon blenders are built with safety as our highest priority.
