A Vibro Sifter , also known as a vibratory sifter ...

A Vibro Sifter, also known as a vibratory sifter, vibrating sieve, or vibrating screen, is a versatile industrial equipment used for separating, grading, and filtering powders, granules, and liquids based on particle size. It’s commonly used in the pharmaceutical, food, chemical, cosmetic, and nutraceutical industries.

🔧 How It Works:

The vibro sifter uses vibratory motion generated by a motor with eccentric weights. This vibration causes the material fed onto the screen to move across the surface, allowing particles of a specified size to pass through while larger ones remain on top.

🧩 Main Components:

  1. Screen Deck(s):
  • Circular frames fitted with mesh (wire screen or nylon) that determines the particle size separation.

  • Multi-deck designs can separate material into multiple size fractions in a single pass.
  1. Vibratory Motor:
  • Mounted centrally or on the side, it generates high-frequency vibrations.
  1. Base & Frame:
  • Provides support and stability to the unit.
  1. Outlet Chutes:
  • Separate chutes for fines (passing through mesh) and oversize material.
  1. Cover (Optional):
  • A lid with inlet port helps reduce dust and contamination—especially important for pharmaceuticals.

⚙️ Working Principle:

  1. Material is fed from the top into the central inlet.
  2. Vibrations cause the material to move in a spiral or horizontal motion across the mesh.
  3. Smaller particles pass through the mesh and are collected from the bottom.
  4. Oversized particles are discharged from the top outlet.

Advantages of Vibro Sifter:

  • High throughput with fine accuracy
  • Compact & portable design
  • Low maintenance
  • Dust-free operation (with sealed lid)
  • Can be used for both dry and wet sieving
  • Quick screen changeover
